The 6th Day of Christmas

Neal was feeling achey this morning so he said I could go to church alone and he'd stay home with the kids and would go later in the evening. We do that sometimes. He worked three days straight with that same schedule of holding the 25 pound camera on his shoulder for hours on end. Things did get better though. He talked to the client and said that he felt a total change in the respect level.

Anyway.. this morning the children sang Christmas songs. It was really sweet. Then later in the day we went out to a Christmas bazaar to support my friend Josie of Josie's English Kitchen. She makes really yummy jams, marmalades, and chutneys. They make perfect teacher, mail carrier gifts and are great to have on hand for someone you may have forgotten. Plus, I really wanted to support her. Her business is really taking off and I'm proud of her for all of her hard work.

You can see the girls totally passed out in the car on the way there. I stopped napping them after daylight savings time and the new 5:00 a.m. wake ups wouldn't stop. I decided I'd rather give up the nap then give up sleeping a little longer in the mornings. As it is, Ava still wakes up around 6:30. I think she's just wired to be an early riser.

OH.. and do you also see that shiner on Audrey's chin. She was running in the kitchen last night and fell out of nowhere as it seems can happen. She cried that her chin and her hands hurt. She had some swelling and a bruise last night, but today the bruise has spread and the chin looks like it's protruding. My husband thinks she could have fractured or broken it. But what do they do if that is the case? I'll call tomorrow to see. Oy... being a mom there's always something little to wonder about.

It was nice walking around the commons and seeing all the Christmas lights up. My kids beg.. and I mean beg to go to Barnes and Nobles (that's what Jackson seems to insist on calling it even though we tell him it's Noble. It reminds me of my grandma who used to call every store with an 's' on the end.) They love to kill time looking at books. I can't argue with that. I love doing the same... and especially when I can sneak away looking at any of the Somerset magazines. They're a little piece of bliss to me. In fact, my husband and I have a no gift policy for our anniversary since it's so close to Christmas. But knowing how much I love them and how expensive they are so I don't always buy them, he surprised me with a stack of every one that was in stock right now. I still haven't managed to find the time to really soak them all in. Whenever I get in bed to do so I start feeling my eyelids falling and I can't focus so I put them aside till another day.

Anyway, then we went out to dinner at Johnny Rockets. The kids choice. However I quickly realized there wasn't really anything 'safe' for me on this recommended dairy free, wheat free diet I've been put on. I asked if I could go get something from La Salsa and bring it over. THey said ok. So that was good. A basic taco with corn tortilla and no cheese I can do. It's my go to meal when we're out and I'm starving.
